Person on minibike fires ‘multiple shots’ at east Windsor home

Windsor police are asking residents and business owners on the city’s east side to check their surveillance cameras after someone allegedly did a drive-by shooting on a mini-motorcycle.

Investigators said it was a targeted shooting early Monday morning.

Shortly before 4 a.m. on Dec. 16, police said a person on a “pocket bike” rolled up to a residence in the 2000 block of Jefferson Boulevard and fired multiple shots into the home.

The person then fled west on Empress Street.

There were no reported injuries.

Police said the incident was caught on surveillance video, but they’re hoping to see more footage.

The Windsor Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit is asking residents and businesses owners in the area to check any surveillance or dashcam footage for potential video evidence.

In particular, police are looking for possible footage between 3:30 and 4:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16.
