Two soldiers died and three others sustained injuries after an army vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge near the Wular viewpoint in the SK Payeen area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday, i.e., January 4.

Two soldiers died and three others sustained injuries after an army vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge near the Wular viewpoint in the SK Payeen area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday, i.e., January 4, news agency ANI reported. 

“The three people have been referred for Srinagar for the medical treatment. We immediately sent our ambulance upon receiving the information of the accident”, Masarat Iqbal Wani, Medical Superintendent of Bandipora District hospital said, as quoted by the outlet. 

The injured army personnel were first rushed to a local hospital and later taken to a medical facility in Srinagar for advanced treatment. Meanwhile, the medical superintendent further said that one of the injured personnel is in stable condition; however other two are still critical. 

Further details are awaited into the matter.
