Worcestershire have re-signed Australia pace bowler Ben Dwarshuis for the entire T20 Blast in 2025.

The left-armer took 15 wickets during his previous T20 stint at New Road in 2021, although the Rapids finished fifth in their group and missed out on the knockout stages.

“He was probably at the start of his journey then, when he was less experienced. It was such a learning experience for Ben at that time,” said Pears head coach Alan Richardson.

Dwarshuis has picked up 169 wickets in 135 games in cricket’s shortest format and has appeared in four Big Bash finals for Sydney Sixers, winning two of them.

He played eight games for Durham in 2024 and also appeared for Northern Superchargers in The Hundred.

“Ben is someone who fits the skill-sets we need, someone who can bowl at the top and bottom of the innings and someone who has become quite destructive with the bat as well,” Richardson added.

“He showed that in a couple of games he played in The Hundred last year.”

Dwarshuis hit an unbeaten 40 off 20 balls for Superchargers against Trent Rockets, and earlier this week scored 20 not out off eight to help the Sixers to a five-wicket win over Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash.

“Worcestershire have had some considerable success over the years in T20 cricket and hopefully I can play my part in making next summer one to remember,” he said.

Dwarshuis will be joined in the Worcestershire team by New Zealander Jacob Duffy for part of the Blast campaign.
